What is a Chicago Style Bagel?

Hand made sourdough bagel with a nice crust on the outside, but not too dense on the inside. The interior is fluffy with a good chew. All bagels are made fresh daily and take 24 hours to develop.

Why a Chicago Style Bagel?

Chicago deserves its own great bagels. These are NOT east coast style. Instead of trying to imitate another region, we believe in celebrating what makes Chicago based foods unique: hard work & unrelenting creativity.

What is your bagel making process?

Each bagel is naturally leavened with our sourdough starter that contains whole wheat and rye flours. The bagels are made in small batches and rise overnight in a cool temperature before being boiled, topped, and baked the next morning. Each bagel is hand-dipped all around in toppings and then baked at a very high temperature. 

Can I order online?

Online ordering is now available for pickup or delivery. Note that online ordering may be off on certain days pending walk-in traffic demand for that day.

Where is your store located?

Our brick and mortar storefront is NOW OPEN! We are located in the South Loop neighborhood at 34 E Balbo Avenue!

How do I keep the bagels fresh?

Our bagels do not contain any preservatives, therefore, they will age faster than a store bought item. For best results, place the bagels in an air tight container or ziploc bag at room temperature for up to 2 days. The bagels can also be frozen for up to 1 month. Recommended to reheat in an oven prior to consumption.

Bagel Ingredients: wheat, brown sugar, yeast, salt, & water.

Cream Cheese Ingredients: milk, cream, lactic acid, stabilizing gum, salt.

Do you have any vegan options?

All of our bagels (excluding any containing cheese & gluten-free) are made vegan friendly. We also offer vegan cream cheese (plain flavor, coconut oil based).

Do you have any gluten-free options?

We have handmade gluten free bagels for sale on Saturdays & Sundays at the shop! Note that the gluten-free bagels contain dairy and are made in a facility that contains gluten products.
